United States recognizes ethnic diversity as the nation’s one of the greatest assets, and more than that feels minority communities attain all the benefits, rights and privileges they deserve as citizens of America.

After all it is ethnic diversity, which gives richness and strength to the economy and culture of America.

In this paradigm of desires, American government has staggering amount of grants especially for minorities covering all African Americans, Hispanics, Asians/Pacific Islanders, and American Indians. During the year 2009, nearly one billion dollars have already been sanctioned for minorities under their Minority Small Business Grants to give boost to their business.

Millions of grants have already been sanctioned to expand their existing business and can get up to one hundred thousand dollars for starting a home-based business.

A person can also receive grant for legal consultation under Minority Grant for Free Legal Advice and not to forget grants in millions available for the purchase of first house, renovating house and last but not the least minority scholarship grants for students intending to enhance their academic aptitude.

There are different minority grants for different minority groups; some benefits certain community while some benefit other communities. While the basic requirement is the attainment of US citizenship but fulfilling the need for personal requirement is a must for e.g. African Americans have gained considerable experience in the college grant opportunities since last decade.

Other grants are Hispanic Minority grants, which are now less in number as compared to other minorities, Asian Minority Grants, Native American Minority Grants and Disadvantaged Group Minority Grants among others.

Being immigrants, minorities face hard time incorporating themselves into the American culture, as a result they find themselves at the disadvantageous situation therefore it becomes all the more imperative for the US government to give special treatment to them as they constitute major part of the population if placed in one group.

Government grants ensure them financial support and help in solving their problems in different areas such as business, housing, education, health etc improving their overall living standards.

Students also have better education prospects with different grants at their disposal bringing them into the main economic stream by increasing their prospects for high paying jobs and improving their status in the society.

This naturally in turn improves additional spending of minorities and ultimately high income tax for the government for reinvestment to give further impetus to nation’s economy.
